RRFS uses retained NOAA initialization runs. Open-Meteo Single Runs mode retains three distinct initializations. Standard mode retains one frozen capture per reported model cycle, keeping the latest three. Hourly polling does not create additional runs. Older unverified hourly captures are excluded. NOAA continues supplying actual observations and NWS guidance.
1970-01-01 · · local midnight to midnight
No exclusive midnight extreme indicated by feeds covering all remaining hours. Early highs = 00:00–03:00; late lows = 20:00 through next 00:00 forecast (boundary guidance only). Opening lows = 00:00–00:59; closing highs = 23:00–23:59 local; flat all-day extrema are excluded.
Provisional reconstruction, not a WU scrape or final settlement. Five-minute ASOS values and encoded six-hour/24-hour extrema are excluded. Missing reports can change the reconstructed high/low. Forecasts are compared as currently retrieved, not an archived verification record.

No qualifying trend in complete three-forecast comparisons. Missing snapshots or hours do not trigger an alert.

Waiting for forecast hours for this calendar day.
NWS guidance is unavailable for this day.
Available-model spread, not a probability or confidence interval. NWS is a separate reference and is excluded from the whiskers. Counts vary by hour. Including prior forecasts weights models with more forecasts more heavily. NBM percentile products are separate calibrated guidance and are not represented by these whiskers.

Loading saved verification…
Models appear when saved forecasts have matching observations in the selected period and lead range. Check Verification logging status above to distinguish collection from scoring. Daily scores require a complete day captured in advance and its climate report.
Uses the measure, period, lead range and sorting selected above. Created in your browser from saved verification statistics; no model downloads. Changing filters clears the preview.
Hourly temperatures use routine METAR within 15 minutes of forecast valid time. Daily high/low use 24 complete forecast hours saved before the standard-time day starts, compared with the same station’s completed climate report. Missing reports remain unverified. MAE = mean absolute error; bias = forecast minus observed; RMSE = square root of mean squared error. Each case has equal weight; counts differ by model. Cycle captures are labeled separately: their initialization is provider-reported and their contents may combine runs. Newly logged forecasts are never backdated. Scores refresh in background approximately every 30 minutes; cumulative CSVs update every six hours. Only REFS means appear here, not their individual members.
Fresh observations vs same-hour guidance
Requires a recent observation, matched NWS forecast, and at least 3 models. Missing or stale data cannot trigger an alert.
