ABOUT NICK

A career shaped
by the atmosphere.

Nicholas Stewart is a spaceflight meteorologist and upper-level winds analyst who graduated with a B.S. in meteorology from Western Illinois University, with a focus on severe weather.

His interests center on the research and operational sides of meteorology. His latest research examines Hurricane Milton’s tornado outbreak and how its unique thermodynamic and kinematic environments contributed to Florida’s largest tornado outbreak on record.

Stewart has presented his research at American Meteorological Society Annual Meetings and the Central Iowa NWA Chapter’s Severe Storms and Doppler Radar Conference in Ankeny, Iowa.

Beyond research, he tracks severe weather live in the field as a storm chaser. Alongside his YouTube coverage, his freelance photography has appeared on NBC, MSNBC, CNN, The Weather Channel, WeatherNation, Fox News, Fox Weather and ABC, as well as numerous local affiliates.
