Data coverage & interpretation

All models use Open-Meteo except RRFS, which uses prepared NOAA runs. RRFS coverage depends on background collection progress. Selecting an older run never triggers a download.

Open-Meteo Standard forecasts combine recent model runs. UTC snapshot labels show the collection hour, not a model initialization. The server collects every configured city hourly and keeps three snapshots per model. New snapshots appear without anyone opening this page. Valid times use America/New_York. An earlier snapshot may contain the same model run as a newer snapshot.

Blend mode weights each selected snapshot equally and aligns members by valid time. Spread is model disagreement, not a calibrated probability. Wind arrows point toward motion; directions indicate where wind comes from. Precipitation applies to the preceding hour and is liquid-water equivalent. Rain includes showers where supplied. Snowfall is new snow depth. Running totals cover displayed intervals; missing amounts leave totals unknown. Unsupported fields stay blank. Composite reflectivity is not supplied by this API; NOAA reflectivity remains available on model maps.

Weather data by Open-Meteo · charts, unit conversions and blends by Met Markets. NOAA observations and maps use separate feeds. A forecast is not an airport observation.
